Pilates
At the Physiotherapy Clinic we can run 1:1 Pilates sessions taught by Diana Whiteley a Chartered Physiotherapist who is also a qualified Pilates instructor.
Pilates exercises are similar in style and rhythm to yoga or Tai Chi but the focus differs by using a centring technique.
When we all move normally, our postural muscles protect our bodies allowing us to move without injuring ourselves. Seated work and poor posture often cause our postural muscles to become lazy and weak.
Pilates aims to promote the correct balance of muscle activity and improve core stability.
At the clinic physio’s can also use Pilates type exercises as part of a treatment or rehabilitation programme.
