In 1993 Claire qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist and has since worked in several NHS hospitals specialising in the assessment, treatment and management of musculoskeletal injuries.
Claire left the NHS to undertake a MSc in Physiotherapy at UCL and gained membership of the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapist (MACP). She spent time working with Roche Pharmaceuticals in their Occupational Health Department, setting up Pilates Classes. Claire also worked with the Lawn Tennis Association’s youth squad which increased her knowledge of treating adolescents with sports injuries.
She has further experience of sporting injuries from being the treating team physiotherapist for the Women’s England Volleyball team. She re-entered the NHS in 2004 working as a clinical specialist physiotherapist at a clinic in Stevenage. After having children Claire moved to Hertford County Hospital, initially combining the two roles.
In the last couple of years, she has worked solely as an Orthopaedic Physiotherapy Practitioner, seeing GP referrals and referring for a wide range of investigations including MRI and managing patients within community services and referring to consultants if surgery or spinal injections are needed.
