Mandy Avery

Qualifying as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1980 Mandy spent 10 years working in the National Health Service, where she specialised in the treatment of musculoskeletal pain. After qualifying as a Manipulative Physiotherapist in 1986 Mandy worked energetically in post-graduate education programme as a clinical supervisor, lecturer and adviser for the Manipulative Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP) until the mid-90’s.

Mandy set up in her own private practice in 1990, moving to its present location in Gosling Sports Park, Welwyn Garden City 2 years later. Working with professional and international players and riders through her association with The Lawn Tennis Association, The British Equestrian Federation and The Women’s England Volleyball Team, Mandy has gained an insight into the demands and stresses that can be put on the body when playing sport.

This experience has equipped Mandy with the knowledge and skills needed to provide treatment to athletes, allowing them to achieve and maintain a high level of fitness for competition - even through injury. Her qualification as an Acupuncturist perfectly complements her other physiotherapy skills in the management of pain.
